About the Role
As a Meals Assistant with MD Home Care in {suburb}, you’ll help clients maintain good nutrition by preparing meals, assisting with feeding, and ensuring dietary needs are met. You’ll support elderly clients, people with disabilities, and individuals recovering from illness or surgery who need assistance with meal preparation and consumption. What You’ll Do
- Prepare nutritious meals according to client preferences and dietary needs
- Assist clients with eating and drinking when needed
- Follow meal plans developed by dietitians or healthcare professionals
- Accommodate special diets (diabetic, low-sodium, texture-modified, etc.)
- Shop for groceries based on meal plans and client preferences
- Ensure proper food storage and labeling
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and food safety
- Provide companionship during mealtimes
- Monitor food intake and report nutritional concerns
- Document services provided and client feedback
